The Vodafone Warriors’ first home match on the road, the players’ work and train programme this coming week and Manu Vatuvei’s Fight for Life bout were all in focus in the Sunday newspapers and online.

Vodafone Warriors winger Vatuvei is now only five days away from taking on champion Olympic rower Eric Murray at the Fight for Life at Trusts Stadium in Waitakere City.

While there are other highly-anticipated bouts on the fight card, the Vatuvei-Murray match-up has captured the most interest in the lead-up.

And it’s their fight which generated plenty of interest in the Sunday papers. Out of Sydney, there was also a story about Paul Gallen’s involvement in the Fight for Life.
