Special night for members in Sydney

Taking over Allianz Stadium ... Sydney-based Vodafone Warriors away members were joined by some members who had travelled from New Zealand for a memorable members-only event on Monday night.
A group of about 150 Vodafone Warriors members – mostly Sydney-based away members – had special reason to cherish Monday night’s memorable 23-12 NRL win over the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.
Above all they were together to witness the Vodafone Warriors winning their fourth NRL match on end in accounting for one of this season’s top contenders.
But there was much more to their day both before and after the main event.
They all took up a special Vodafone Warriors members-only offer for a Roosters away function.
Buying discounted tickets they were given an exclusive pre-game tour of Rugby League Central right next door to Allianz Stadium, watched the game and then had the chance to meet the Vodafone Warriors at a special post-match event.
Vodafone Warriors head of membership Dan Burton said the members-only promotion was a huge success. A few New Zealand-based members made the trip over to be involved, as was evident from some of the traffic on Twitter.
The day started with a tour of Rugby League Central’s outstanding set-up, including the impressive museum. The members were joined by Kiwi NRL veterans in former Vodafone Warrior Joe Galuvao, who recently announced his retirement, and former Penrith and South Sydney front rower Frank Puletua. They did a question and answer session and offered their pre-match views on the big clash.
The group had allocated seats in the Warriors Away Supporters’ Bay to watch the Vodafone Warriors put on one of the club’s best performances.
“The members were fantastic, chanting and singing throughout the game, providing a sensational environment made all the better by the fantastic performance on the field,” said Burton.
“It finished with our members singing ‘Nah nah nah nah goodbye’ to Roosters fans who gave up and left early.”
After the match, the members made their way to Members Lounge at the famous Sydney Cricket Ground where they welcomed the players and heard from Vodafone Warriors assistant coach Andrew McFadden, strength and conditioning coach Ruben Wiki and captain Simon Mannering before enjoying their chance to chat with the players, get autographs and have photos with the team.
Burton said it was a hugely successful night which drew terrific feedback form members who had enjoyed a special opportunity to mingle with their team.
